What is Capscan?
Capscan BD is a community platform where people report online scams and review businesses. Before a transaction, anyone can search a name, phone number, page or business to check it.
Does Capscan cost anything?
No. Searching is free, reports can be anonymous, and registering a business is free too.
How do I check before sending money?
Search the phone number, business name, Facebook page or website on the homepage. Read the reports, evidence and community reviews, then decide. No reports does not mean safe — be extra careful when asked to pay in advance.
Can I use the site in English?
Yes. Use the “বাংলা | EN” switch in the corner; your choice is remembered.
Reports
How are reports reviewed?
Every report is first checked by our moderators and published only after an admin approves it. “Reviewed” means it was submitted properly with evidence — it is not a court verdict.
Can I report anonymously?
Yes. Choose anonymous if you do not want your name shown; the details needed for moderation stay private.
Someone posted a wrong report about me. What can I do?
Press “Complain” on the report page, choose a reason and add your evidence. The moderators review it again in depth; unfounded reports are removed.
What evidence should I include?
Chat screenshots, transaction IDs, payment receipts, links to the page or profile. Do not expose other people’s private data (such as NID numbers) unnecessarily.
Reviews and rankings
How is the “best brands” ranking calculated?
The average rating is weighed against the number of reviews: (reviews × average + 3 × site average) ÷ (reviews + 3). One 5★ review cannot put a platform on top. Businesses without reviews are listed separately.
How do I find the best businesses in a category?
Search on the “Best brands” page, for example “clothing” or “men clothing”. Choosing “Find the best clothing brands” shows men’s, women’s and kids’ clothing, each ranked separately.
What if a review looks unfair?
Press the flag (report) button beside the review. Moderators check it and hide it if needed; hidden reviews do not count towards the rating.
For businesses
How do I add my business?
Fill in the “Add business” form. After approval the profile goes live and customers can review it — free of charge.
How do I claim my profile?
Sign up on Capscan with the official email shown on the profile and verify it — the profile becomes yours automatically. If you cannot access that email, write to support.
Can I reply to reviews?
Yes. Once you have claimed the profile you can post an official reply under each review.
Account and privacy
What are points and ranks?
You earn points for contributing — for example 1 point for each new visit through your referral link. Ranks by points: Rookie, Scout (50), Detective (200), Inspector (500), Sherlock (1000). Top contributors appear on the leaderboard.
How do I delete my account and data?
The “Delete my data” page explains what is removed; the quickest way is to message support on WhatsApp.
Will Capscan ask for my password or OTP?
Never. Anyone asking for a password, OTP or PIN in Capscan’s name is a scammer — report them.
